Physical therapy is treatment to improve or restore the mobility you need to move forward with your life. If you are looking for possible alternatives to surgery and/or medication for pain, consider physical therapy. Physical therapists are licensed health care professionals who utilize intensive education and clinical expertise and apply scientific research and proven techniques to help people get back in motion. Physical therapists will examine, diagnose and then prevent or treat conditions that limit the body’s ability to move and function in daily life.
Your physical therapist will develop an individualized plan for you to promote your ability to move, reduce pain, restore function and prevent disability. To help you, your physical therapist will teach you how to prevent or manage your condition and motivate you during your treatment to reach your health goals through fitness and wellness-oriented programs.
Physical therapy can help to dramatically improve your quality of life and fitness levels. We understand how pain and injuries make everyday activities challenging and life, often stressful. At Parsippany PT, our highly experienced team is passionate about helping you to increased your energy levels through guided exercise; to improve and maintain your balance…living your life with prolonged independence.
We work diligently so that each of our patients experiences relief from their symptoms, have an understanding about their condition, and are able to live their lives with an improved quality of life they didn’t think possible.
Yes! Physical Therapy can also improve your mobility, which is vital to the quality of life you experience each day; whether it’s a sports activity like golf, or everyday activities like emptying the dishwasher, or walking the dog.
While recognizing that prescription medications are an essential part in the management of many acute and chronic conditions; physical therapy can provide an alternative to the long-term use of medications for the management of pain and certain other health conditions.
Physical therapy as a general rule should be started as soon as possible. Addressing your problem quickly will often result in reducing the overall treatment time required. Your treatment plan will be evidence- based (according to the clinical stage you are presenting). After a careful evaluation, a treatment plan will be developed; any questions related to it answered, and you will be kept abreast of your progress.
The patients of Parsippany physical therapy are diverse in age, life experience, and physical ability. Physical Therapy is not just for people that have had a severe injury or complicated surgery; it can also help those with mild problems or chronic aches and pains. We perform various treatment regiments, and will customize a program combining the best treatments to resolve your particular injury. Regardless of age or ability, the goal is to design a treatment regiment appropriate to the level of the individual. The physical therapist will solicit your participation in establishing the treatment regiment and goals.
OUR SERVICES
The goal of physical therapy is to reduce pain, restore function and educate patients on how to prevent pain from recurring. Physical therapists teach patients about proper body mechanics and posture along with exercises to stabilize and strengthen your joint or spine. Your physical therapist is highly trained in the mechanics of the human body and will work with you to determine the proper body positioning to help you reduce or prevent pain. You will be taught optimal positions and exercises that will help you control your pain.
Wear comfortable, loose clothing and athletic shoes. During physical therapy sessions, it is important to have access to the injured area for effective treatment. You should wear loose fitting clothing so you can expose the area that we will be examining and treating. For example, if you have a knee problem, it is best to wear shorts. If your problem is with your upper back, shoulders, or your cervical spine, you should wear a t-shirt or tank top.
